badminton lesson plans
Which sport should I take on?
I'm planning on taking lessons this summer and perhaps joining a high school team if I'm good enough. I haven't played anything for quite some time but am willing to put in some time to learn again. Here's what I'm considering:
- volleyball
- track/ cross country
- swimming
- baseball/ softball
- tennis/ badminton
- running track can take a looong time to get used to and alot of ppl cant get the hang of running a long distance in a short time ... i did running for my HS and it takes alot out of u esp wen u first start; but then again all sports do.
- i wudnt play volleyball unless u r tall and can jump pretty high ( have good leg mucles and arm muscles to hit the ball )
- swimming is fun, but to b on a swim team that takes swimming seriously can take the fun out of it.
- softball/ baseball and tennis/badmitten are rly fun sports! im going to play softball for my HS this year and its rly easy to get the hang of playing it. u have to be athletic but not too much.. almost n e one can play! and tennis takes alot of wrk and alot of time playing in the heat! and the rules are sooooo confusing!! ( i kno someone that plays ) . also these aports take place at diff times so u mite be able to play more than one if ur up to itt!
but the choice is rly up to you and what you have ur heart set on playing. and colleges like to see that u played sports in HS so good luck!!

how much will i improve in badminton if i get trained for 6 consecutive years?
i am currently 16yrs old and having been playing badminton for about a year now. i want to be one of the top players in the world. the top players started at an early age but do i still have a chance to compete in the chicago 2016 olympics without humiliating myself out there? I'm planning to get coaching lessons two times a week for an hour. Will i still be able to have a chance and compete? Thank you for all the answers. This may sound like a b.s question but its just a thought i had in mind. Thank you again. I greatly appreciate all the answers (:
My friend started to train when he was a Junior in high school. He took a test to get out of highschool early so he could train more. He's aiming to be a professional player, and it's been 4-5 years now. He's currently playing as a team member in Bintang and is being sponsored by Yonex because he's getting better and better. He trains every day now though, so I don't know how good you'll be if you only train two times a week and only an hour a week... if you want to compete in the Olympics, there's no way that two hours a week will get you ready for it... At Bintang Badminton Academy (I'm a worker there), you see customers come in 2-3 times a week, for 4 hours or more sometimes, and they've been doing it for years... but they're still not ready for the olympics.. if you want to be in the olympics, you have to train every day. no doubt about it.
