badminton tournament rules Student Banned by School for playing in Community Centre!?
My son was banned for a year by his school for playing in a SCRABBLE tournament organised by the Jurong Green Community Centre during the December school holidays! Where soccer, swimming, badminton etc etc players play for school, club and even Singapore do have this ruling. In 2007, a Singapore youth won the World Scrabble Youth Championship and was also banned by his school then. The age limit for World Youth is under-17, can we afford to curtail students, our youths, from reaching world status or into the international limelight. The School excuse is that by playing outside school, the student is exposed to 'international' exposure compared to been amatuer at school level. Ridiculous! What about students playing thru the internet - can they monitor and ban students? It is after all a simple board game of scrabble. The School has been shallow, bias and prejudicial.
Error - Other Sports ie soccer, badminton, swimmers etc etc DO NOT have this ruling!
Banned from school or from playing scrabble?. I think it silly myself, but maybe they thought he would be too good for the kids at school now?

What can I do to win a badminton match?
I have a badminton tournament tomorrow and im just wondering whether anyone has any tips on how to win - any badminton experts or people who are good at badminton
Actually there are some preparation that you have done far away from the match. Those are your skills. The skills are grip, footwork, position, hitting position, service, return service, underhand, lob, smash, drop shot, etc.
But if you will face the tournament tomorrow, what you need to prepare are:
1. Stamina and healthy. Make sure you have enough rest for the next match and don't eat or drink junk food. Keep consumpting healthy food and restore your illness as soon as possible. Stamina and healthy is a dominating factor in winning a match.
2. Relax. Calm down and relax. Playing a match in front of people is not easy especially for beginner. It needs experience. Take a deep breath before you give and receive service. If you are pressed take time by rounding the court, drinking, or wipe your body.
3. Confident. You have to confident and sure that you can defeat your enemy. Everybody have weakness. Find those weakness and play calmly.
