A skunk was in our garage all last night - I didn't know. My husband is working the third shift this week. We think the critter snuck in while the garage door was open in anticipation of his leaving to go to work around midnight. All night long I kept hearing noises that I thought were in the house, but couldn't find anything. When dh came home in the morning, he found the poor guy trapped in a pvc pipe with his legs trapped in a badminton net. The dh carefully cut the netting off and the skunk ran out of the garage and took across several yards. No spraying involved. On the other hand nets, organized groups of people using 1,000s of sticks, purpose made plantations, selling them to restaurants and 700,000 trapped birds a year are things of the past.I believe that banning “eating” them is wrong and hypocritical for as long as eating chicken, pork, beef etc is not banned. Their small size is not a valid argument either as prawns are small, and so are oysters and muscles.On the other hand I strongly agree that hunting in Cyprus needs to be controlled and regulated in a different way because otherwise there will be nothing left in the wild. We do have a basketball net, and a badminton net. Instead of a swim club, we live 15 minutes from a lake/park/beach that we do try and frequent. A pool would be awesome, but a little pricey here in Michigan. The youngest has 15 hours a week of gymnastics - I think I will try the no TV before 5pm rule though. Great suggestions!
