Is there such thing as a serving fault in badminton?
I was wondering what the official rules are and I can't find anything that talks about this. If you screw up your serve does the serve and point just go to the other player or do you get another chance?
Yes there are faults, you lose your serve and the points go to your opponent (in the new rules).
Serving faults can arise if the shuttle doesn't land in the correct part of the court. Faults can also arise if the shuttle is struck above the waist.
See section 9 of the document below for more information on the regulations.
Me and my mates have started playing badminton. I say the service court for doubles is the same as singles. They say its different, they say its the outside lines in doubles from the service. Also, if the shuttle cock hits the net and goes over on the service is it a fault?
The service court is the same for singles and doubles. If the shuttle-thing hits the net on service it is a fault.
