Me and my mates have started playing badminton. I say the service court for doubles is the same as singles. They say its different, they say its the outside lines in doubles from the service. Also, if the shuttle cock hits the net and goes over on the service is it a fault?
The service court is the same for singles and doubles. If the shuttle-thing hits the net on service it is a fault.
badminton match rules shouldn't we mix and merge rugby and american football rules to end debates of who's better?
these sports are quite similar and have the same origin and we could have olympic matches etc. if these were global sports but they are not now. sports like badminton and handball make it to the olympics but not the more popular rugby and American Football. which is sad
bring the best parts of both together........
Each to his own why debate it? No ones ever gonna agree
Ive always been told that when serving for singles, its supposed to go all the way to the back. Yet when i look at several mens singles on the world level (all england open lin dan lcw) they seem to constantly serve to the front instead of the back. Why is that?
At the higher levels, the players' technique and power are so advanced that allowing a high serve to the back would result in a sudden devastating smash down the line. As a result, the short serve became popularized since it didn't allow a sudden smash.
At lower levels, a sudden smash off a high serve would be acceptable; keep in mind that it is a lower level and the smash wouldn't be as powerful; it could easily be predicted and countered, leaving the person who smashed in a very bad position to receive the block.
